A journey into ‘A Toned Inner Thigh’

Extra fat around the inner thigh is a big concern for many, especially women, who often complain of bruises or even bleeding of the inner thigh due to the friction of them rubbing against each other. With this extra fat on their inner thigh, it becomes difficult for them to go for even a regular brisk walk. As a result, their physical activities come to a halt and the fat deposit continues to gain volume.

With overweight or obese practitioners, who are not too physically active, I make the ‘Inner Thigh Stretch against the wall’ (Wall Upvistakonasana) a must practice, especially as they are beginners. It does not drain them out and is safe for both their mind and body.

Further, they begin to witness noticeable changes in a short span of time. The extra fat from that area starts dissolving, the body becomes lighter, the legs shapelier, and they are now set to move further with intermediate practice in their journey.

Try Wall Upvistakonasana every alternate day for a month. You can start with as little as 2-3 minutes and gradually hold the posture for up to 10 minutes. There will be a lot of soreness in the inner thighs at the beginning as the body may not be used to this movement, but within a week, the body will adjust and be prepared to take your practice further towards a ‘Toned Inner Thigh’.
